One of the discoveries of the festival.

about Ingried’s concert at the TradFest festival, Edinburgh

May 2017

...der glasklare Gesang der künstlerichen Leiterin Ingried Boussaroque. Convivencia atmet den Geist Alter Musik, ohne darüber die Leichtigkeit der Folklore zu verlieren. Sehr hörenswert!

about the Convivencia album (La Mandragore)

Sept-oct 2013

Ingried Boussaroque visited the Folk Music Festival in Siglufjord, Iceland, in the summer of 2013. Her concert on medieval music made a great impact on the listeners. Her lecture at the Folk Music Academy on music from northern Spain and France was most interesting and proved her thorough knowledge of that topic.

Gunnsteinn Olafsson, orchestra, musical ensemble and opera conductor. Founder of the Siglufjörður Folk Festival and the Iceland Youth Symphony Orchestra.

La Mandragore looks deep into history and celebrates a period of peace.Their latest disc, Convivencia, a haunting beauty of an album, celebrates a period in Andalusia in the 10th and 11th centuries when there was peace and tolerance. The title translates as coexistence, cohabitation and conviviality. In the liner notes to the disc, vocalist Ingried Boussaroque points to Montreal as a place where people of all origins live in peace. And that, when you think about it, is a kind of magic...

Et il y a toujours cette voix séraphine de la soprano Ingried Boussaroque qu'on ne se lasse pas d'entendre comme si elle était la dépositaire de ces chants anciens.

Don't miss the great duff solo on track 2 and the lovely composition by Hildegarde von Bingen on track 3; watch for the intricate harmonies ofthe flute with Ingried Boussaroque's warm soprano, and see how her voice rises, pure as a flame, floating away at the end.
